Alphabet Streets Visioning Charrette

📍 15224 Sunset Blvd., Pacific Palisades (PRC Headquarters)

This is the second of eight Visioning Charrettes hosted by PRC and Resilient Palisades in partnership with RAND researchers, AIA volunteer architects, The Red Cross, and Habitat LA. Together, we’ll explore how to rebuild thoughtfully and prepare for future fire events. Our first Charrette was focused on Marquez Knolls; this Saturday is for Alphabet Streets

LAPD – Looking Ahead

The Palisades Community Advisory Group Meeting on 7/23 revealed that city-funded private security may end in 4–6 weeks. LAPD leadership stressed the need for a sustainable community-based model. Deputy Chief Gerald Woodyard underscored the importance of accurate crime reporting and collaboration. Residents raised concerns about crime, street lighting, and the City’s commitment to long-term safety. The group agreed that private patrols, crime detection tools, and visible law enforcement are essential as recovery continues. (Full recap attached.)

Walking Tour & Recovery Conversation Recap

📍 Started at LAPD Stop-in-Station – 15224 Sunset Blvd.

We had an engaging one-on-one conversation with Senator Ben Allen and Councilwoman Traci Park, followed by a walking tour through the heart of the Palisades to the Recreation Center. We discussed critical recovery topics—insurance, rebuilding authorities, and resilience districts. Look out for the video recap. Next steps include a webinar on insurability and a roundtable with fire tech companies.
