A Trifecta of Community Renewal

The days ahead bring not just one gathering, but a trifecta of events that build upon one another — each an essential step in our recovery journey. From visioning how we rebuild with resilience, to grappling with the question of insurability as a community, and finally to healing together through art, these moments are deeply connected.
Each experience flows into the next: what we imagine on Saturday will shape the policies we examine on Sunday, and the strength we gain from one another will find expression in art and healing on Wednesday. This is our moment to envision, to safeguard, and to heal. Together, we are writing the next chapter of the Palisades recovery.
🌟 Saturday, August 23 (10 AM – Noon) – Community Visioning Charrette
This isn’t just a meeting — it’s our chance to dream out loud. Our third neighborhood visioning charrette, focused on the unique topography of the Castellammare/Paseo Miramar neighborhoods, will be guided by RAND and AIA volunteer architects. Together, we’ll imagine how to rebuild stronger, safer, and smarter.
This is a part of our community that lives between bulkheads, unstable hillsides, PCH below, and the Getty above — terrain that demands creativity and resilience. This time, we’re also stepping into the future with real-time AI modeling from RAND, which will transform our ideas into instant, visual possibilities.
💡 It is imagination turned into possibility — so the next generation does not face the same destruction, and our recovery is built on resilience and insurability.
👉 RSVP by reply. Walk-ins welcome (residents only).
🔥 Sunday, August 24 (3–5 PM) – Insurance Roundtable with Senator Ben Allen
The very next day, we turn vision into policy. With Senator Ben Allen, the Insurance CommissionConsumer ServicesUnited Policyholders, and other advocates at the table, we will tackle one of our most pressing challenges: how to rebuild with insurability.
This conversation will explore how new legislation can protect homeowners from unsustainable premium hikes, and how resilience — at both the individual and community level — can unlock a safer, more affordable future for all.
This roundtable is the first in a series of vital policy discussions that will bring insurers, lawmakers, and advocates together to ensure that insurance is part of our rebuilding strategy. Along the way, we will discuss the tools, governance, and resources needed to power our recovery. 💻 Remote participation available via Zoom.
🎨 Wednesday, August 27 – Art for Healing: The Forest of Trees
To close this remarkable sequence, we gather not to plan or debate, but to heal. At PRC Headquarters, we will launch a two-year Art for Healing program — a space where artistic expression, guided creativity and healing meet. The opening theme is trees: symbols of endurance, renewal, and deep roots and a priority as we fight to restore what was lost in our tree canopy.
Come paint, listen, create, and heal together. This is how we remember that recovery is not just about structures — it is about people, community, and connection.
💚 These three days are more than just events — they are stepping stones on our shared path toward a resilient, thriving, and united Palisades.
📅 Mark your calendars. Bring your voice. Bring your spirit. Bring your imagination. All  events will be held at PRC HQ: 15224 Sunset Blvd., Pacific Palisades.
Each event feeds the next — and, as always, we look forward to your engagement. Together, we are shaping the Palisades of tomorrow.
