What’s Ahead in March

This month, just to name a few, we welcomed WISE & Healthy Aging, brought the LA County Assessor and LA Sanitation directly to the neighborhood — real answers to real questions. We’re opening new ways for the community to shape what recovery actually looks like here. As always, our events calendar is full and there’s something for everyone – join us!

Take a look.

Couldn’t make the LA County Assessor briefing? The full recording and summary are now on our site, with everything property owners need to know — reassessment, tax relief options, rebuilding paths, and key legislation. And if you’d prefer to be in person, Assessor Jeff Prang will be back at the end of the month.

Art for Healing

Led by Frances Nedjat-Haiem, this month’s Art for Healing brought neighbors together to paint, share stories, and heal — the theme: Pacific Dawn: New Beginnings on the Horizon. Every piece becomes part of an exhibit telling the story of our recovery.
Join us for the next one on March 14th!

WISE & Healthy Aging brought their Fire Relief Pop-Up to our La Cruz location on March 2 — and it was a full house. More than 100 senior fire survivors came through for resources, giveaways, and lunch, connecting with services designed specifically for those 60+ still navigating recovery.

PRC President Maryam Zar moderated a panel on resilient rebuilding, co-sponsored by Builders Alliance and Palisades Recovery Coalition, with thanks to the PaliBu Chamber for bringing these conversations to the recovery discourse. The panel brought together architects looking ahead to the future of Los Angeles — exploring how communities rebuilding after fire can become models for climate-resilient planning.

Pali Renewal Celebration at Palisades High School

This year changed all of us. If you’ve been waiting to step back into community — this is your moment. Join your neighbors for food trucks, music, games, and good conversation. As the sun sets over the Santa Monica Mountains, we’ll close the day with a lantern ceremony — each one a symbol of renewal, all of us marking a new chapter together.
