As we head into the weekend, PRC is moving full speed ahead — advancing recovery, strengthening community ties, and pushing forward a slate of programs and milestones that keep our momentum strong. Another week brings another surge of progress, and here’s what’s ahead.

Tus 12/9 at 2PM: In person at 15224 Sunset Blvd, Pacific Palisades
Tuesday, December 9 — Bureau of Engineering at PRC (2 PM)
We’re hosting LA City’s Bureau of Engineering for an important briefing on permits, bulkheads, hillside assessments, survey monument recovery, and BOE’s support for the Library and Rec Center rebuild. This is a valuable opportunity to get clarity on infrastructure and permitting questions tied to fire recovery.
PRC (#PaliRecovery) will start hosting LA City Departments on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, at our location in Palisades Village – beginning this Tuesday, December 9th, at 2PM with Dept of Engineering. Mark your calendars and join us!

Legacy Initiative – This Saturday (tomorrow), December 6
The Palisades Recovery Coalition invites families who lost more than one generation of home in the Palisades Fire to gather for a deeply meaningful Legacy Initiative. In partnership with the Trauma Resource Institute, we will work together to salvage memories, preserve mementos, and begin assembling a shared book of stories that can be held by future generations — and ultimately archived in our new library when it is rebuilt.
This gathering is a moment to connect, honor family history, and create something lasting out of so much loss.
Our Cultural Footprint Zoom – December 10 (5:30–7 PM)
PRC will host a live virtual conversation about the history and cultural identity of Pacific Palisades. Featuring:
- Ken Bernstein, Historian
- Adrienne Fein, LA Conservancy President
- Sam Lagana, Palisadian and community voice
Together, we’ll explore the Palisades’ cultural impact across Los Angeles and how we can preserve our cultural footprint and impact citywide, moving forward

December 13 — Final Community Charrette (All Neighborhoods)
Our last visioning charrette of 2025 brings every Palisades neighborhood together. This “catch-all” session is your chance to help shape the January 10 Charrette Report-Back and the focus groups that will launch immediately after. If you missed your neighborhood session, this is the moment to join the conversation.
PRC to Become a Soil Drop-Off Location
We’re partnering with the County of Los Angeles to make PRC HQ a designated soil sample drop-off site for Palisades residents. Accurate soil testing is a key piece of safe rebuilding, and we’re proud to support this effort locally.
December 12 — Insurance Town Hall #3 with Senator Ben Allen (3–5 PM)
Our third Insurance Town Hall will focus on fire-resilience technology, hardening tools, and the growing instability of communities across Very High Fire Severity Zones. Experts in insurance, risk assessment, and resilient building systems will join us for an honest and solutions-focused conversation.

Dept of Angels Hosts Soil Testing Day – This Saturday/tomorrow, December 6 at Will Rogers
Join the Department of Angels for a full community soil-testing event at Will Rogers.
Drop off soil samples, meet vendors and local nonprofits, learn about environmental health, and take the steps needed to rebuild with confidence. Reliable testing helps ensure your soil is safe — and that you know exactly what you’re working with before construction begins.

The Molly Steinsapir Foundation – “From House to Home” (Dec 5–7)
Palisadian fire survivor and community leader Kaye Steinsapir invites all LA fire survivors to a special #TeamMolly event supporting families who are rebuilding their lives. “From House to Home” offers new furniture at factory-direct pricing, helping survivors turn rebuilt structures back into homes.
Pick-ups will take place at American Legion Post 283, Friday through Sunday.
All LA fire survivors are welcome.
